iEarth Selected for HKSAR Government’s RAISe+ Scheme
21 April 2026
iEarth has been selected for funding support under the third round of the HKSAR Government’s Research, Academic and Industry Sectors One-plus Scheme (RAISe+), led by Professor Peng Gong, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong, following the official announcement by the Innovation and Technology Commission on 20 April 2026.
Built on advanced artificial intelligence and remote sensing technologies, iEarth transforms multi-source Earth observation data into actionable intelligence for climate, carbon, and sustainability applications. Key application areas include carbon accounting, precision agriculture, urban monitoring, disaster early warning, environmental risk assessment, and energy and carbon management.
This recognition marks an important step in advancing iEarth from university research towards practical, market-oriented solutions. It also reflects the project’s potential to support innovation, industry-academia-research collaboration, and sustainable development.
